Las 7 partes esenciales de una empresa según mi
experiencia
Llevo varios años en el mundo de los negocios, y en todo este tiempo
he aprendido mucho sobre lo que realmente hace funcionar a una empresa.
He pasado por muchas experiencias, algunas más difíciles que otras, pero
cada una de ellas me ha dejado una lección valiosa. Quiero compartir con
ustedes las siete partes que considero esenciales para cualquier
empresa, basándome en mi experiencia personal. Cada una de estas partes
ha sido crucial en mi camino hacia el éxito y espero que puedan ser de
ayuda para quienes estén comenzando o quieran mejorar sus propios
negocios.
1. Mindset, espíritu. ¿Por qué se empieza el
negocio?
El primer y más importante componente de cualquier negocio es el
mindset, el espíritu con el que se inicia. Recuerdo cuando decidí abrir
mi propia oficina. No fue una decisión tomada a la ligera. Había un
deseo ardiente de crear algo significativo, de ayudar a la comunidad
inmigrante en Estados Unidos y de demostrar que, sin importar de dónde
venimos, podemos alcanzar grandes cosas. Este propósito claro me ha
sostenido en los momentos difíciles y me ha dado la energía para seguir
adelante. Es fundamental tener claro por qué se empieza un negocio y
mantener ese propósito en mente cada día.
2. La importancia del marketing
Una vez que tienes claro por qué estás en el negocio, necesitas que
otros también lo sepan. Aquí es donde entra en juego el marketing.
Recuerdo que al principio, no tenía muchos recursos para grandes
campañas publicitarias, pero utilicé las herramientas a mi disposición:
redes sociales, recomendaciones boca a boca y eventos comunitarios. El
marketing no es solo publicidad; es contar tu historia, conectar con tus
clientes y hacerles sentir que eres la mejor opción para ellos. Con el
tiempo, aprendí que invertir en marketing es invertir en el futuro de tu
empresa.
3. Ventas — de prospectos a contratos
El marketing atrae a los prospectos, pero las ventas los convierten
en contratos. Aprendí que vender no es solo una cuestión de ofrecer un

principio, me ponía muy nervioso al hablar con posibles clientes, pero

4. Planta física
La ubicación y el entorno físico de tu empresa también juegan un
papel crucial. Recuerdo cuando finalmente pude abrir una oficina en una
buena ubicación. No se trata solo de tener un lugar bonito; la planta
física debe ser accesible, funcional y reflejar la imagen de tu empresa.
Una oficina bien organizada y agradable puede mejorar la moral de los
empleados y la confianza de los clientes. Es un espacio donde se
materializan los sueños y objetivos del negocio, así que es importante
invertir en un lugar que inspire y facilite el trabajo diario.
5. Personal
El equipo que te rodea es uno de los activos más importantes de tu
empresa. He tenido la suerte de contar con personas increíbles que
comparten mi visión y están comprometidas con el éxito de nuestra
oficina. Seleccionar y mantener un buen equipo no es tarea fácil. Es
fundamental buscar personas que no solo tengan las habilidades
necesarias, sino que también compartan los valores y la cultura de la
empresa. La motivación y el bienestar del personal son cruciales para el
funcionamiento eficiente y armonioso de cualquier negocio.
6. Producción (procedimientos, cómo se maneja el
proceso)
Una empresa sin procedimientos claros es como un barco sin timón.
Desde el inicio, me di cuenta de la importancia de tener procesos bien
definidos para cada aspecto del negocio. Esto no solo asegura la calidad
y consistencia de nuestros servicios, sino que también facilita la
capacitación de nuevos empleados y mejora la eficiencia operativa.
Documentar cada paso del proceso, desde la captación de clientes hasta
la entrega final del servicio, ha sido una práctica que me ha permitido
mantener el control y mejorar continuamente.

Métricas y metas financieras
Finalmente, pero no menos importante, están las métricas y metas
financieras. Desde el principio, establecí metas claras y medibles para
mi empresa. Esto me ha permitido evaluar nuestro progreso y hacer
ajustes cuando sea necesario. Las métricas financieras no son solo
números; son indicadores que te muestran si estás en el camino correcto.
Establecer un presupuesto, monitorear los gastos e ingresos y analizar

The Importance of True Friendships in Times of Success and
Difficulty
I have always believed that true friendships are the cornerstone of
our lives, especially during the most critical moments. Throughout my
personal and professional journey, I have discovered that genuine
friends are those who stand by us in both times of success and times of
difficulty. It is easy to be surrounded by people during moments of
prosperity, but it is in adversity that we see who is truly willing to
support us unconditionally.
Since
my arrival in the United States, my life has been a roller coaster of
challenges and achievements. Emigrating to an unfamiliar country,
adapting to a new culture, and building a successful professional career
have been enriching yet incredibly demanding experiences. Throughout
this process, true friendships have been my anchor and refuge.
I clearly remember when I founded Quiroga Law Office, PLLC with
Casey. It was a triumphant moment after years of shared sacrifices and
efforts. Professional success brought new friendships and connections.
Many people approached us, interested in collaborating or simply
celebrating our achievements. However, I soon realized that not all of
these new “friends” were sincere. Some were more interested in what they
could gain from our relationship than in sharing an authentic
friendship.
In contrast, my true friends were those who genuinely celebrated my
successes without envy or ulterior motives. Friends like María, my
younger sister, who has always been my unwavering support, and some
university colleagues who became family in this new country. These
people not only applauded my achievements but also reminded me of the

While it is comforting to have friends to celebrate victories with,
it is even more crucial to have them in difficult times. I remember a

me to bankruptcy. It was a time of great uncertainty and fear. However,

Siempre he creído que las amistades verdaderas son el pilar de
nuestras vidas, especialmente en los momentos más críticos. A lo largo
de mi trayectoria personal y profesional, he descubierto que los amigos
genuinos son aquellos que están a nuestro lado tanto en los tiempos de
éxito como en los de dificultad. Es fácil encontrarse rodeado de
personas en momentos de bonanza, pero es en las adversidades cuando se
revela quiénes realmente están dispuestos a apoyarnos
incondicionalmente.
Desde
mi llegada a los Estados Unidos, mi vida ha sido una montaña rusa de
desafíos y logros. Emigrar a un país desconocido, adaptarme a una nueva
cultura y construir una carrera profesional exitosa han sido
experiencias enriquecedoras, pero también sumamente exigentes. En todo
este proceso, las amistades verdaderas han sido mi ancla y mi
refugio.
Recuerdo claramente cuando fundé Quiroga Law Office, PLLC junto a
Casey. Fue un momento de triunfo después de años de sacrificios y
esfuerzos compartidos. El éxito profesional trajo consigo nuevas
amistades y conexiones. Muchas personas se acercaron, interesadas en

Si bien es reconfortante tener amigos con quienes celebrar las
victorias, es aún más crucial contar con ellos en los momentos

una crisis financiera que casi me lleva a la bancarrota. Fue un momento
de gran incertidumbre y miedo. Sin embargo, fue en ese momento cuando

Un nuevo idioma amplia tus horizontes personales y
profesionales
Aprender un nuevo idioma ha sido una de las experiencias más
enriquecedoras y transformadoras de mi vida. Al crecer en Colombia, el
español fue mi lengua materna y, por muchos años, el único idioma en el
que me sentía realmente cómodo. Sin embargo, cuando me mudé a los
Estados Unidos, me di cuenta rápidamente de que dominar el inglés no era
solo una habilidad deseable, sino una necesidad absoluta. Este viaje de
aprendizaje no solo me ha permitido comunicarme de manera efectiva en un
nuevo país, sino que también ha ampliado mis horizontes de formas que
